Rita Dawson
Rita Dawson joined The Parkland Group, Inc. in 1999 to provide knowledge in management, sales strategy and marketing execution-in order to help clients achieve sales growth and improved profitability.
While at Parkland, Rita has worked with a variety of clients in various industries to develop strategies and practices focused on driving economic value. Rita brings a solution-based approach to strategy development, management, sales management, marketing management and leadership to all client engagements.
Rita recently functioned as interim COO at a fourth generation wholesale food distributor. She led a program to make dramatic improvements in strategic, operational and marketing effectiveness. The company experienced an immediate improvement in both the top and bottom line as a result of these initiatives.
Rita also recently worked with a plastics manufacturing company to increase their business development efforts, decrease their sell cycle and focus on delivery windows. This resulted in a significantly improved backlog, streamlined customer service and enhanced their competitive advantage. In addition, she is currently working with a rubber manufacturer to significantly improve their sales and marketing strategy and execution.
Rita is a co-inventor of Parkland's new and revolutionary business improvement process, SOAR to Strategic Excellence and is a Certified SOAR Consultant.
Prior to joining Parkland, Rita worked for a Fortune 500 company where she was charged with managing over a quarter of a billion dollars in product line sales. Her accomplishments include leading cross-functional development teams to introduce over 50 new products to the retail and industrial markets, and developing and managing channel relationships that resulted in over $50 million in new business.
Rita has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
